Pulmonary arterial hypertension: systematic review and meta-analysis [PDE5-INTRODUCT

Pulmonary hypertension, or non-obstructive heart failure, is a chronic condition that affects millions of patients every year. The global prevalence of this condition is expected to rise to 4.3 billion by 2032, leading to a significant demand for effective treatment measures.

No simple-relief treatment method has been established for pulmonary arterial hypertension, but several non-invasive treatments exist that can provide relief for patients. The Pulmonary Hypertension Foundation (PAH) has been an essential source of information on pulmonary arterial hypertension treatment since the 1990s.

PAH, a global healthcare authority with more than 30 countries, recently completed a review of treatments for pulmonary arterial hypertension in line with guidelines. The EMC for Pulmonary Hypertension is for Erectile Dysfunction (ED) and provides information on treatment alternatives.

In this article, we will review current information on pulmonary arterial hypertension treatment and provide a comprehensive clinical tool for healthcare professionals.

The EMC [CANDIDE CULTURE TAB 20 mg Tablets, USP]

The EMC for ED is for PAH and is for Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH). The EMC for PAH is for non-ydia-infective pulmonary fibrosis (NPH), an autoimmune condition characterised by persistent inflammation in the lungs.

The EMC for pulmonary arterial hypertension is for NPH and is for PAH.

The EMC for PAH is for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPFE). The EMC for idiopathic PAH is idiopathic PAH with exercise-mediated pulmonary fibrosis (PMAF).

IPFE is a condition characterised by persistent inflammation in the lungs caused by an inhaled chemical substance such as tadalafil. IPFE is treated with an oral dose of 10mg once daily.

IPFE is potentially irreversible and usually occurs within 30-60 minutes of taking the drug. It does not require any treatment.

Tadalafil belongs to the group of medicines called phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE 5) inhibitors, primarily used to treat erectile dysfunction (impotence) and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Erectile dysfunction is the inability to keep a hard and erect penis suitable for sexual activity. Benign prostatic hyperplasia, also called prostate enlargement, is the non-cancerous growth of the prostate gland.

Tadalafil contains ‘Tadalafil’, which works by relaxing the blood vessels in the penis; this allows the blood to flow into the penis when the person is sexually excited. Thereby, it helps to treat erectile dysfunction. Tadalafil relaxes the bladder and prostate muscles, thereby reducing enlarged prostate symptoms such as difficulty in urination and urgent need to urinate.

You are advised to take Tadalafil for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you, depending on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience certain common side effects, such as headache, back pain, muscle pain, pain in the legs and arms, nasal congestion, indigestion, and facial flushing. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.
